Search for apparel stores
Apparel catalogues often repeat the same garment across sizes and colours. The useful starting point is consistent product data, then search terms and filters that match how shoppers describe a garment.
Example field map
| Shopper question | Possible Shopify field | Example value |
|---|---|---|
| Which size is available? | Variant option | Size: M |
| Which colour? | Variant option | Color: Navy |
| What kind of garment? | Product type or collection | T-shirt |
| Is this relaxed fit? | Tag or selected text metafield | fit_relaxed |
These are illustrative examples, not preset filters or results from a merchant store. Configure only values already used consistently in your catalogue. IntentSea Search can filter by product options, tags, product type and selected indexed text metafields. Collection-page filters require Starter.
Prepare search language
List the terms customers use for garment names, fit and local spellings. For instance, a shop may choose whether tee should match T-shirt; test both phrases before adding a synonym group. Avoid grouping terms that distinguish material, cut or audience. Use synonyms as an explicit merchant choice, then inspect a few queries and filter combinations.
For merchandising, schedule a temporary pin or boost for a campaign query only when the matching products and dates are known; remove or expire the rule after the campaign. See the synonyms guide, filters guide and zero-result troubleshooting.
