How IntentSea Search works on Shopify

IntentSea Search connects a Shopify product catalogue to a storefront search experience. The setup is a short sequence: request access, sync products, configure search, enable the theme integration, then test real queries.

1. Request access

Send your store address and the search experience you want to improve to [email protected]. A request does not install the app or start a paid subscription. Paid-plan trials are a separate 14-day Shopify billing trial.

2. Sync the catalogue

After access is granted, use the app's Home setup checklist to connect the store and start catalogue sync. Products need to be active and published. Check the sync status before troubleshooting a product that is missing from results.

3. Configure what shoppers can use

Start with common customer queries. Configure filters and synonym groups, then review the ranking and merchandising controls included in the selected plan. Analytics can help identify popular searches and searches with no results.

4. Enable the theme integration

In the Shopify theme editor, enable the IntentSea Search & Filters app embed and save. The documented integration supports Online Store 2.0 themes. Optional app blocks include Search Bar, Search Results, Collection Filters, Popular Searches and Breadcrumbs.

5. Test the storefront

Try autocomplete, a full search and selected filters on the storefront. If a product is missing, check that it is active and published, that sync has completed, and that the app embed is enabled. Share the store address and theme name with support if you need help.

Separate access, billing and AI

An access request, a paid-plan trial and an AI experiment are separate steps. AI is optional and is not automatically enabled for all shoppers. See pricing, AI search and the FAQ.
