IntentSea Search ranking: controls and evidence
IntentSea Search combines text relevance with merchant-configured ranking signals. Merchandising rules can take priority over ordinary ranking. These are documented product behaviors; they do not by themselves prove a lift in clicks, conversion or revenue.
Documented ranking signals
The current ranking reference describes inventory, product newness, discounts, sales velocity and trend, plus measured click-through, add-to-cart and conversion lifts. It also explains how per-query boosts and query groups can affect relevant products.
Choose controls by the job
- Use relevance and synonym groups to make sure a query matches the intended products.
- Use merchant ranking signals when inventory, newness or sales patterns should affect order.
- Use a merchandising rule when you have an explicit product or query outcome, such as pinning or hiding a result.
- Use a controlled experiment to compare ranking strategies before broadening a change. See the AI and experiments guide.
What the published evidence does not show
The ranking reference contains no completed latency benchmark values, and this page makes no measured sales or conversion claim. No future ranking feature or release date is promised here. Check IntentSea Lab for product updates; posts identify their own status. Sourcing and restocking remain research directions without a launch date.
