Shopify product search for Vietnamese stores

Shoppers in Vietnam type the same product in many ways: áo khoác, ao khoac, áo khoác nam or a mix of Vietnamese and English such as áo hoodie. A search bar that only matches exact characters sends many of them to an empty results page.

IntentSea Search is a product search and filtering app for Shopify stores, built with Vietnamese catalogues in mind.

What it does

• Accent-insensitive matching. Product titles and descriptions are indexed with accents folded, so a search typed without diacritics finds the same products as one typed with them.
• Mixed-language catalogues. Products with Vietnamese titles and English terms (brand names, sizes, materials) are searched together.
• Translated stores. The app can index translated product titles and descriptions, so shoppers search in the storefront language.
• Vietnamese and English admin and widget. The admin and the storefront widget are available in both languages.
• You control the vocabulary. Add synonym groups such as *áo khoác / jacket* and stop words, with CSV import and export.
• Searches with no results are visible. Analytics lists the top searches and the searches that returned nothing, so you can add a synonym or a rule where shoppers actually got stuck.

Going further with AI

On Pro and Scale plans, an optional semantic layer adds product candidates when ordinary text search finds too few matches, and natural-language filters turn a phrase into removable filter chips.
