Search for home and living stores
Home catalogues mix furniture, textiles, lighting and decor. A short, consistent product taxonomy helps shoppers narrow a broad query without promising a particular search outcome.
Example field map
| Shopper intent | Possible data field | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Shop a room | Collection or tag | living-room |
| Compare materials | Selected text metafield or tag | linen |
| Choose a finish | Variant option | Finish: Oak |
| Narrow product kind | Product type | Table lamp |
| Check a dimension | Title/description or populated text field | 120 cm |
Examples are illustrative. Search filters only have useful values when the source data is present, selected and indexed; a text metafield should not be presented as a numeric range filter. Use readable collection names and avoid duplicating near-identical tags with different spellings.
When planning a seasonal room edit, create a temporary collection and use a scheduled merchandising rule only after products are assigned and dates are confirmed. Keep the filter taxonomy stable when the campaign ends. See filters, seasonal search checklist and ranking.
